Dr. Kirsten Wilgers graduated from the University of Florida in 1997 and then received her Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2001. Born in Deland, Dr. Wilgers was a Total Vision patient for years before she earned her Doctorate and joined the New Smyrna Beach practice in 2001. She opened her first practice in Port Orange in 2003 and opened her second practice, NSB Eye, in New Smyrna Beach in 2024. Her commitment to her patients and their families defines the practice and the entire staff has been carefully selected to continue this legacy. Dr. Wilgers enjoys being a mentor to future doctors and being an active participant in her community supporting multiple high school sports teams, volunteering at Career Days and doing vision screenings at local preschools with Eyes On Volusia. She treasures spending time with her parents, both retired Volusia County educators, her husband, a former Lieutenant and paramedic for POFR, and their two grown children who are now in college.
